The battlemaster is a tricky machine but no less more complicated that an Atlas. I am running Medium pulse ,srm4 and large laser and it just works kind of like a over grown Shadow Hawk has weapons for all ranges and can go with it speed tweak which I have unlocked it will play even better. The SE varient with jump jets really just falt out does it better in my opion than my 3d Cataphract, the quickdraw just sucked for my play style but he thunderbolt works. Though I really love the thunderbolt in the heavy role against other heavy one on one it can brawl with the best of them but just does have the armor to take a undamage assault one on one though.

Running it as lrm boat with large laser as my backup weapon and as long as I don t get terra theram breaking 400 to 750 damage easy the most kills had 5 kill and 3 assist packing 1200 plus lrm and it fun as can be. The battlemaster even the s varient as a missle boat is a good mech started leveling it 3 days ago and only played it about 8 games already half way done with basic so doing well. I love jj equipped mechs and have will always take them over non jumpers but the battlemaster is fast becoming my go to mech for assault I still pilot my Heavy Metal but I find myself running my Battlemaster I have not took out a regular varient Highlander on over a month. The only way it could be better is if it had Jump Jets. I still like the Atlas, but the speed of the Battlemaster allows you to keep up with the slower mediums and escape more situations.Īs a player that only has the Highlander as his only assault chassis loving the Battlemaster. The stock engine on all of the Battlemasters makes them move at 71.3 KPH with speed tweak.Īs for "is there a point to getting it if I have an Atlas" part of your question - I don't know.

The FASTEST Atlas is 71.3 KPH with speed tweak (using an XL400 "Boars head") or 64.2 KPH for any standard Atlas (such as the founders). The energy hardpoints on all Battlemaster models are high-set and narrow compared to the cockpit's field of view (meaning if you can see it, you can shoot it from either torso) However, torso twist speed is much faster, also despite it seeming wide, the arms are actually "high" hardpoints - so you are able to fire on more targets in your field of view without your shots going into nearby buildings or terrain.

The Battlemaster doesn't feel anything like the Atlas.īefore pilot upgrades, you can't turn to face right or left 90 degrees.
